The 2012 Starboard board line gathers many boards. All boards are crafted using the latest technology and intended to offer the best performance in their class. If you enjoy racing in marginal wind conditions, you need a fast and accurate board. The new 2012 UltraSonic is Starboard’s solution for lightwind racing. The board is fine tuned to reach intense speeds and offer incredible early planning performance. A special hull design, similar to the iSonic one provides better planning potential, while the wider outline assures increased stability at lower speeds.

The longer nose outline assures a smoother control when planning and improves jibbing and tacking at the same time. The increased tail curve, combined with the narrower tail outline provides better release and extra power when needed. The increased concave deck design assures a lower center of gravity to make the board steady and allow the rider to control it without hassle. The mast track can be moved back to gain more speed without affecting overall control. Starboard has used harder rail edges in the tail area to provide increased top speed and improved acceleration. This feature also allows the board to maintain a constant speed during maneuvers.

Comfortable rails have been placed under the footstraps to assure a relaxed stance and allow the rider to control the board with minimum input. The flat V bottom provides a dynamic water flow and assures a fluid drive. The Starboard UltraSonic is available in Wood and Carbon versions. The Carbon UltraSonic is lighter and it is perfect for pro riders who demand faster speed.
