João Rodrigues Is the 2012 European Raceboard Champ

João Rodrigues, one of the most determined European sailors, has claimed the 2012 European Raceboard Champion title in light to moderate winds in the Los Alcazares European Windsufing Championship. Although he is 40 years old, the Portuguese Olympic athlete is still collecting titles in the world’s most prestigious competitions.
The rider from Madeira is proud to have his team by his side, as he said at the end of the competition: "I would like to thank the support given from the Madeira team. It was a privilege to be part of it and I hope this is the first of many in the future."

He is also glad that windsurfing will be part of the 2016 Olympics in Rio, but he would want to see kiteboarding as part of the games too: "The ISAF didn't listen to sailors and national governing bodies, and postponed the decision until the annual meeting. ISAF should've merged windsurfing and kiteboarding in the Olympic Games."
In the Alcazares European Windsufing Championship, Murashev Artem won the 2012 Raceboard Youth European champ title, Juha Blinnikka won the Grandmaster champ title and Paco Manchon claimed the Veteran champ title.
