The Riders to Watch at KIA @coldhawaii World Cup

Today, the 12th of September, the KIA @coldhawaii World Cup, the third event on the PWA 2011 Wave Tour, will kick off in Klitmøller, Denmark. The event will give spectators the chance to view some of the best male wave riders in action. But out of all the radical wave riders, who should you keep an eye on? The PWA (Professional Windsurfers Association) has a provided an answer to that question.

According to the PWA, the ones to watch out for in the men’s fleet are:

  • Philip Köster – the current leader of the Wave Tour will undoubtedly want to hold on to his position and consequently will pull out all the stops. Expect Philip to provide a great show in Denmark.
  • Kauli Seadi – it was thanks to his unique style that Kauli managed to beat his adversaries in Pozo and Tenerife. We can count on Kauli to resort to his unique style to defeat the competition in Denmark as well.
  • Ricardo Campello – he holds the title of the highest double forward loops so far this season and is considered to be one of the most daring riders on the tour. We can expect to see Ricardo pull some awesome gravity defying aerials in Denmark.
  • Dario Ojeda – he offered a spectacular show in Pozo and so far he has been risking it all in an attempt to impress the judges. There’s no doubt that he will do the same in Denmark.
  • Victor Fernandez Lopez – the 2010 Wave Champion will undoubtedly want to make it back on the podium. Expect to see the super aggressive wave rides and faultless loops that Victor is famous for.
  • Daniel Bruch – he will undoubtedly want to get a spot on the podium, considering that he came in 2nd in Tenerife (his home spot). Having recovered from his injury, Daniel comes to Denmark stronger than ever – a real threat for the top five riders.

Other riders you may want to keep an eye on are Alex Mussolini, Jaeger Stone, and Marcilio Browne.

Expect all the competitors to give it their best as they fight for a spot on the podium and a share of the €30,000 prize purse.
