Naish Boxer 2011

Naish Boxer 2011

Sail type: Wave
Brand: Naish

The new sails line introduced by Naish in 2011 is intended to redefine the way windsurfers ride. All sails are built according to the highest quality standards and offer top performance. The new Boxer is part of the wave sails series and provides exceptional power and control. It is a dedicated wave sail, but it also excels at freestyle. It is the number one choice of pro riders Kai Lenny and Julien Taboulet so it has to offer performance close to perfection.

The sail is engineered using a draft back profile which optimizes power delivery and makes the sail very reactive. This way the rider can perform advanced technical moves without effort. The compact outline defined by a single scrim luff panel allows it to offer a fast and smooth glide through the waves. The sail uses reduced boom and luff lengths to assure low swing weight and improve handling. The new shaping technology generates proportional load pressure distribution and optimizes power delivery and control. The optimized hand pressure keeps the rider in control and assures a comfortable cruise. The sail features a four battens skeleton which keeps the foil well balanced and significantly improves stability. All Boxer sizes come with Vario heads.

Out on the waves the Naish Boxer feels very dynamic. It is a great sail for new school sailors who feel the need to perform spectacular tricks. The Boxer is constructed using an X-Ply body, Vinylester battens and additional reinforcements in high stress areas. This structure provides the perfect strength to weight ratio and allows the rider to use the sail in various wind and wave conditions.

Not one of the most tunable sails. It will become very light on the backhand if you apply too much downhaul and will give you a high pull position if you apply too little. A medium to low outhaul is enough. On the water the Boxer feels light in hands...more

I like how it performs. You don't have to tweak it a lot. Just use recommended settings and it will run nice in all waves. Power is softer and positioned a bit forward. This makes the sail easier to control. Bottom end is good. Only at top end it can...more
