Simmer Style Blacktip 2011

Simmer Style Blacktip 2011

The new line of sails introduced by Simmer Style in 2011 is intended to revolutionize all aspects of modern windsurfing. The sails are crafted using a new technology which aims to improve the riding experience of all sailors. The new Blacktip is an aggressive sailing machine dedicated to freestyle and hardcore wave enthusiasts. The sail is designed by Simmer Style team together with pro rider and champ Klaas Voget, so it is guaranteed to offer top performance. The sail uses a compact outline which makes it extremely easy to maneuver during on water or aerial moves. It has a progressive step leech and a rectangular batten configuration which make it very stable and reactive.

When paired with a compact wave or freestyle board, the Blacktip is perfect for new school riders that compete in world class events. The fuller profile generates plenty of speed and excellent low end power. This way, the sail is perfect for early planning maneuvers and can propel the board upwind without hassle. A high cut foot and a shorter boom length provide excellent control at all times. A great thing about the Simmer Style Blacktip is that it can be depowered when needed. When depowered it is very forgiving and can be handled with minimum effort.

The Blacktip offers a very fluid and powerful drive. It is also very reactive and responds quickly to rider input. A four battens skeleton keeps it steady at all times, while a Kevlar Stretch Control Tendon assures optimal draft stability in all wind conditions. Simmer Style has built the Blacktip using a light and robust monofilm, Q-Ply and X-Ply structure. A Kevlar perimeter provides extra reinforcement. The Simmer Style Blacktip is available in 3.3 up to 6.0 square meters sizes and in three color styles. It uses a fixed or Vario top depending on size.
